about

As a person lucky enough to have been brought up in western society, i count myself lucky in general. I have access to running water, food and education at little to no cost. Despite this fact i find myself regularly making up problems in my life that aren't actually problems, These problems come in many varieties. Problems such as 'i don't have the latest iPhone' and 'my TV isn't big enough' often plague me both when i'm awake and in my sleep. This song is about these problems and the feeling in which the ultimately culminate. I call this feeling the 'Western Blues'. I am aware that sarcasm is hard to detect in text so i will inform you now, the lyrical content of this song is intended to be entirely sarcastic.

lyrics

My car isn't fast, my house isn't large, my salary just wont stretch as far, as i want. I think i deserve a pay rise.

The Wine that i drink isn't nearly as fine, as the women i dream of and whom i strive to take, back to my mediocre place.

Show them all the things that i don't have. Tell them of all my dreams that disappeared like a fad. My worries, my monies, how life is a hurry, my backache and my flu. Oh me, and my western blues.

I can't afford that home by the sea and i'd like the kitchen blue but my girl disagrees, cos the curtains won't match the glassware.

My phone is only an iPhone 4, it has lots of features but i want more, my TV is only forty inches.

So i called my mum up the other day to tell her how i feel. She didn't listen to a word i said, her problems were way more real. So i put down the phone and i drank my wine, its a battle i always lose. Oh me, and my western blues.

Me and my western blues.
